(Literacy) Tim Fahning's "Use TGfU to Guide Students to Create their Own Games!" in Winston 1 BC (Handouts)
Description:  Attendees will learn a fun way to integrate writing and literacy into the PE setting. Come create a new game and play some too. Or as Tim writes: "We began this game writing project when my Principal asked me to include writing in PE class. Fifth grade students write/create their own games in small groups. The students then teach their peers how to play the game. The students referee/observe their peers while they play the game. The students all gather to critique the game, offering solutions to problems or ways to make the game better. The game makers join in as the game is played again, this time with the corrections. The better games are shared with other grade levels throughout the school year.
