Meet Your Presenters! Shana Whitley is a former NC Health Education TOY and teaches health at Lake Norman High School in Iredell County. Joining Shana is Lisa Queen also with the Iredell-Statesville School System.
Session Description: This session will provide teachers with strategies and resources to effectively teach reproductive health and safety.  Teachers will develop their content knowledge and feel more prepared and comfortable teaching the subject. The session will allow time to navigate online resources and other technology tools.  These strategies will broaden student learning with increased student engagement and accountability.  Middle and high school health and physical education teachers will benefit from this session.

The successful implement of activity based technology systems is often requires guidance and support from a tech specialist.

Joe’s recent experience includes specializing in App based fitness and health programs that utilizes BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and ANT+ wireless technologies for classroom and gymnasium integration. Also experienced in the setup of wireless networks in order to communicate with these low power devices and applications, Joe love sharing both how to do it with the why it is to convert to digital learning of physical activity literacy.

Session Description: Utilizing evidence-based strategies can increase Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) in physical education class. Learn how effective management of students, technology, equipment and instructional time can yield more activity for your students.

Objectives:
· Demonstrate research-based strategies to increase MVPA.
· Modify existing activities to increase MVPA.
· Utilize best practice teaching strategies in physical education class that are known to increase MVPA.

Objectives for the use and applications of the IHT ZONE Heart Rate Monitor:
* Participants will learn the operation of the IHT ZONE functions.
* Participants will become proficient at fitting and wearing a ZONE monitor.
* Participants will engage in gathering and reviewing ZONE data.
* Participants will engage in reflection of integrating the use of zones in existing curricula.

Eric Larson is the Regional Vice President for Interactive Health Technologies (IHT). This is the next step in a career that’s been focused on education, and specifically, physical education. Following a 35-year career with the Denver Public Schools, Eric served as the National Physical Education/Physical Activity Advisor with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. At Denver Public Schools, Eric served as an award-winning educator, both as a PE teacher and PE administrator.
