Description: Join in the fun as presenter Darryl Gordon of Konnoak Elementary School shares the magic of the "D-Unity Dance Team" Program with you. (PE Teacher Uses Hip-Hop to Teach Fitness - Live Link). Or as TV Station WXII-12 explains: "At Konnoak Elementary School, some of the youngest in our community are showing us how it's done. The D-Unity Dance Team is made up of second through fifth graders, and their PE teacher says there's a message behind their moves. From the first eight count to the very last beat, you can hear Darryl Gordon's voice on top of the track. He said, "I try to keep it energetic as much as possible."

This P.E. teacher is making sure kids stay active after school. Derrick Melton is a fifth grader who said, "I'm just always dancing."Gordon also says the steps will lead to success. Each dancer has to maintain good grades and conduct to be on the team. It's Elias Page's first year. He said he's been getting good grades ever since he's been on the team. The kids practice hard for a purpose. They perform at different high schools and community events. It gives them a chance to show off their skills, but Gordon said he wants the audience to see beyond the steps. "My goal is, when people see D-Unity, don't get caught up in the music. Don't get caught up in the moves," he said, "We have different skin tones, ethnicities and backgrounds, but they all have that D-Unity shirt on. So, we're all the same."
